Honeywell now offers Predictive Emission Monitoring Systems (PEMS), which are cost effective software-based continuous monitoring systems that may be certified for compliance with 40 CFR Part 75 Subpart E and 40 CFR Part 60 Appendix B.

The PEMS application runs on a standard workstation in a client-server environment utilizing a SQL compatible database and OPC-compliant data acquisition server that can interface with almost any input device or existing process control system. This allows the application to be implemented in a cost-effective manner by continuing to leverage installed legacy systems and provides for future customization to accommodate the specific requirements of the source for ongoing regulatory compliance reporting.

PEMS systems require minimal operational oversight and maintenance. This translates into cost savings as PEMS can be used independently, in lieu of CEMS, for qualified emissions sources, or as a backup to conventional CEMS under the 40 CFR regulations as promulgated to date, and/or as an extremely cost effective replacement for existing compliance data acquisition systems.

When combined with Cirrus EIS, PEMS provides a complete emission monitoring and data acquisition and reporting system, expandable to meet all Title V requirements, without the associated high equipment and maintenance costs of CEMS.
